An ARCA racing championship has become a distinct possibility for Fort Kent’s Austin Theriault. Hardly anyone wants to say that he has clinched, probably not wanting anything negative to hamper the young man’s efforts. USAC Silver Crown points leader, Kody Swanson is running a parallel track with Theriault this season, often racing at the same venue during the same race weekend. Swanson’s 105 point lead practically assures him of the ppoints championship.
Fort Kent, Maine’s Austin Theriault is the “real deal” in ARCA Racing championship battle. Theriault won his sixth race of the 2017 season and his third in a row at Salem Speedway, Indiana. Fort Kent, Maine’s Austin Theriault not only held onto his points lead in the ARCA Racing Series, he won his fourth race of 2017 and his first road course victory. The win at Road America, Elkhart Lake, Wisconsin netted him the Bill France 4 Crown Award for his achievement at super speedways, short track, dirt tracks and road courses.
Wyatt Alexander of Ellsworth finished his season on a high note placing on the podium at the Boss Hogg 150 at Wiscasset Speedway. Jon Peters Pro Stock #51 crashed heavily on lap 21 was checked and released at an area hospital. The race was won by Nick Jenkins with Cody Tribbett second, and Alexander third. Mega-Autocross coming to the County at Loring next weekend.
